Closing Questions
1. What have you learned about the processes of designing a sound research study in class?
I learned throughout this process that it is important to find supportive sources early in the process and start coding early on. I wish that as I went along and found my sources that I would have sorted the information better. I think this would have prevented a lot of my scattered thoughts and would have easily developed more common themes. By establishing these themes, I think that my literature review would have flowed a lot better than it did, and I would have better understand other things revolving the research like the research gap and categories. I am an individual who functions better when I have my information highlighted with different colors. So, I wish that I would have done this process earlier than when I did because it would have allowed me to compose a better thought out research study.
2. What have these processes taught you about your future roles as a technical and professional communicator?
This class has helped me better understand my writing process, specifically revolved around research. This is something that I would happily incorporate into my future. Since I am understanding my own process, I am hoping that the next time I have to do a project revolved around research, I will have an easier process to follow.
